Council welcomes more jobs for Dublin Enterprise Zone

Fingal County Council has welcomed the recent jobs announcement by Mallinckrodt and Designer Group following the opening of their new facilities in the Dublin Enterprise Zone.
Mallinckrodt, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, opened its new €95m Global Device Engineering Facility at College Business &Technology Park in Blanchardstown and announced the creation of 45 high-skilled jobs in a range of areas including product design, software development and electro-mechanical engineering.
Designer Group, a mechanical and electrical service provider, opened its new €2m offices at Clyde House in the IDA Business & Technology Park in Blanchardstown and announced the creation of 100 new jobs which will be created over the next 12 months. The company has 130 apprentices, most of whom are drawn from the local area, and has converted its old office into a training centre.
Welcoming the announcements, the Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, Paul Reid, said: “These two announcements are further proof that the Dublin Enterprise Zone is one of the cornerstones of the Irish economy and contributing greatly to the economic revival nationally and within Fingal.”
Fingal County Council’s Director of Economic Enterprise and Tourism, Ed Hearne, said: “Both companies operate on a global level and are good examples of the diverse nature of the firms operating within the Dublin Enterprise Zone. Its location and the quality of the available workforce is making the Dublin Enterprise Zone the prime site for companies that need a base in Ireland.”
The Deputy Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Eithne Loftus, said: “These two announcements are a great boost the Dublin 15 area and will have a strong and positive effect on the local economy.”
