Statement from Fingal County Council in relation to Seagulls Balbriggan

The Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has made a Declaration which allows owners or occupiers to remove seagull nests or eggs from their properties within a defined area of Balbriggan. Details of the Declaration and a Map of the defined area are available at:- https://www.npws.ie/sites/default/files/files/General%20Wild%20Bird%20Declaration%202017_18.pdf
Removing seagull nest or eggs can be dangerous and persons considering this are advised to employ competent and insured service providers. As an alternative to nest or egg removal, deterrent devices can be considered and there are companies who can provide advice and a service for these. The Council does not provide a seagull nest or egg removal service, or provide advice in relation to deterrent devices.
